This piece makes use of four primary melody lines, containing 8, 4, 2, and 1 note, respectively. The duration of each note is inversely proportional to the notes in the melody (so they all last the same). This would normally create a single bar loop, but the notes are periodically played at half speed, moving everything out of sync. This period is governed by the number of notes; so the 8 note melody line changes duration every 8 bars, and so on. This produces emergent harmonies and patterns, and un-notable melodies.
