Probably the most minimalist of all the pieces on the album, ‘Sine On’ consists on one chord held for the full duration of the track.
However, the volume of each note in the chord varies over time, tracing a sine wave. The number of cycles each note completes during the course of the work varies. For example, the lowest note, C#, completes one cycle, whereas the high G manages 22. Additionally, each note begins at a different part of the cycle.
A piano is added according to a separate, more complex, algorithm.
